Francesca & Preferences

This is a subtle way of knowing me as a writer and an explorer so I fervently hope it entertains you. First, I am Francesca, but you can call me Chesca so that we can kindle some amity. My name Francesca, for a little bit of background, is derived from the Latin word Franciscus which means 'French' based on www.meaningofname-baby.com. However, I had read in a book that Francesca originated from a Latin word which means Free. The fact is that being raised in the Philippine setting, my dad named me after my great grandmother whom he admires. It is an unimposing tradition in this country to name children from their grandmother or grandfather or a combination of both of their names in here.

Speaking of family, I am a millennial (people born between 1981 and 1996) raised in a family of four in the Philippines. Being the eldest, I have my fair share of responsibilities that's why I have to work a little far from home. I am currently working in Cebu as a public servant. I cannot talk about my work because it requires confidentiality. My page is mostly about what I do in my leisure time. I listed down here the things.

Numero uno on my list is watching different genres of movies, Korean series, and American Series. As a kid, I grow watching American reality shows, sitcoms, and movies while the other kids in my town are engrossed in Philippine dramas or what we called “teleseryes". My personal favorite is The Big Bang Theory, Amazing Race, Seventh Heaven, and Kid’s Nation. In the advent of Korean dramas, everyone swooned over the oh-so-perfect Korean actors and actresses and the unpredictable plots of Korean series. My preferred series is My Girl, Strong Woman Dong Bo Soon, Itaewon Class, My ID is Gangnam Beauty, Weightlifting Fairy. I also have a habit of binge-watching cooking competitions, interior design shows, and restaurant-themed shows, because it inspires the artsy culinary person in me. Netflix and Viu are the common apps I usually use to view movies and series. I have dozens of recommendations and I will post them here on my page with corresponding reviews so keep on visiting my site.

To add some spice to my leisure activities, I love to travel and to learn about different cultures and places here in our country. I am purely Ilongga but currently residing in Cebu. Cebu offers a myriad of sceneries, experiences, and entertainment which have a vibe that makes tourists feel cozy and pumped at the same time. From the historical serene places to my mind-blowing adventures, Cebu is a catch basin of tourists around the world. Yet, my home province, Iloilo, is also a gem with its spelunker's paradise, exceptional islands, glorious heritage, mouthwatering delicacies, and rich culture. There are so many places to explore if you will be visiting my country. Before you pack your bags, a virtual tour of the Philippines is a must!

In addition, I am a foodie by heart. Food introduces us to culture, tradition, and a whole magical way of living. It is quite entertaining to watch people cook and to taste their labor of love. I cannot say no to home-cooked meals, street foods, and native delicacies. I also have this great love for coffee and hot chocolate especially those that are made from scratch. A plethora of sumptuous meals will be featured in this page.

My page is solely dedicated to exploration, leisure, and having a good time while not giving away a large sum of money. I’ll introduce you to hacks to save yourself from spending from unnecessary expenses. I am not a perfect guru but I am quite practical when it comes to traveling and having a good time.
